There is a place for you in Georgia

With units statewide, assignments are based on your location and how you choose to serve.

The Georgia State Defense Force has units located across the entire state, giving volunteers the opportunity to serve Georgia while staying rooted in their local communities. From the mountains of North Georgia to Metro Atlanta, across Middle Georgia and down to the southern counties and coast, the GSDF is structured to ensure every region of the state is supported and represented.

To organize leadership, training, and mission readiness effectively, Georgia is divided into two primary operational areas: GFAB North and GFAB South (Georgia Force Assistance Brigades). New members are assigned to a unit within one of these brigades based on where they live and the capacity in which they serve — whether in operations, search and rescue, communications, medical support, drone operations, or other mission areas. This structure allows members to train consistently, serve close to home when possible, and respond quickly when Georgia calls. No matter where you live in the state, there is a place for you in the GSDF and a meaningful way to serve your community.
